A beautiful outdoor Mcneese University senior photo session in Lake Charles

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

It’s almost here. Graduation time. The leaves are on the trees, the grass is getting greener and we still have a few seniors who are just now getting ready for their senior portrait session with Lake Charles Senior Photographer Bart Leger.

This past Friday we had a great time with Danielle, a McNeese University senior. She is finishing up her degree in Education and says she loves children. Danielle, I know you will be an awesome teacher with that bubbly and enthusiastic spirit.

Here are a few of the images from our on location senior portrait session in and around Lake Charles.

A fun maternity session

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

This is a first for me. I had never done a maternity session before and I was extremely nervous as I was getting ready to do this. After viewing what seemed like hundreds of other photographers’ maternity photos, I was ready to sink or swim. We ended up not having a great setting outside and the time of day put the sun high in the sky. The deck was stacked against us. But, the show must go on.

We took a quite a few outside and then went in for a few low-key shots. The low-key photos (black background) were done with only one off-camera light. The light was provided by a Canon 580 EX Speedlight with a 15″ softbox on a stand. Here are a few pictures from Hollie and Stephen’s session.

Lake Charles Civic Center

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

I just love early evening lighting. The following is an image of the Lake Charles Civic Center from the north side taken some time ago. Notice the different colors of the surrounding lighting and how it adds to the mood of the picture.

Spring is coming

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009
Not only are the weeds growing, as you will see in one picture, but the flowers are coming back as well. This afternoon I took a walk and noticed a few flowers. Here they are.

A dramatic sunset

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

A couple of days ago I looked out our back door and saw a dramatic sunset. Needless to say, I ran immediately to grab my camera and took a couple of pictures. The setting sun literally set the clouds on fire with color.
