I just love it when mom’s have a sense of style and the little ones pull it off with attitude and have fun. Such was the case with one of our favorite clients for little Bethany’s 9 month session.
We have been working with Bethany since she was a newborn and this session was extremely fun and enjoyable and we always love it when mom and dad get super excited over their images in print.
Here are a couple of storyboards from this session.
What character. We are definitely looking forward to her one-year-old portrait session.
Till next time…

We had a great time working with this family at dusk in the South Lake Charles area a few weeks ago. We started out with with some shots on the front porch and as it got a little darker made our way to the nearby railroad tracks.
We love newborns! There’s just something about holding that new little bundle of joy and being allowed into a family’s inner circle. We realize it is a precious privilege to be trusted with this new little life and capture these memorable moments. This little one was no different and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together as mom relaxed in a nice comfy chair in our studio while we worked our magic. Here are a few images from their session.
This last image was just fun. We love it when these newborns have a full tummy! They fall asleep much easier and they don’t don’t wake up as much while we are working with them.
We had the wonderful opportunity to capture beautiful images of a beautiful young lady who competed in the 2010 National American Miss Teen contest. Kallan, from the Lake Charles area, placed as 4th runner up last year at Nationals in sunny California. We started with a few in the studio then went outside. Here are a few of her images from that session.
It all started with a phone call. Robert called and asked if we did photo sessions at the beach. I told him that we did and he proceeded to explain that this portrait session would be a little different. He was planning on proposing during our picture taking. Oh, wow. It took quite a bit to restrain my enthusiasm about the prospect of capturing this awesome once in a lifetime memorable moment in this couple’s life. To make it even more exciting, I had just acquired the Flip HD video camera and my mind began to reel with the possibilities. He already had the date in mind, so we locked in the time and planned on getting together later to plot our strategy.
At this planning session we came up with a signal that would let Robert know when to take out the ring and pop the question. Now, with all the details ironed out, we waited for the big day. We met at Prien Lake Park in Lake Charles, got acquainted for a few minutes and began shooting. Then, just at the right moment, I gave the signal and Robert began to pull the ring box out of his boot. The rest, we may say, took its natural course.
If you would like to see the video of their proposal and engagement portrait session you can view it on a previous post here.
The weather was beautiful, the ride out to Hayes, LA was great, and our senior, Emily, was a blast to photograph. We started out in Lake Charles. From there we made our way to a charming location near Hayes, LA called Loraine bridge.
Emily, we hope you had as great a time as we did. Also, be on the lookout for her custom slide show in a few days here on the blog.
It’s been a while since I last posted and it has been a few weeks since we had this family maternity session. As a matter of fact, we just finished their newborn portrait session a couple of days ago. As one of the maternity photographers in Lake Charles, we are having a great time capturing these great family moments. We went over to their home and captured these great images. Dad is getting ready to enter his last year of medical school, so I especially like the one with the little future doctor with his dad’s stethoscope.
It’s almost here. Graduation time. The leaves are on the trees, the grass is getting greener and we still have a few seniors who are just now getting ready for their senior portrait session with Lake Charles Senior PhotographerBart Leger.
This past Friday we had a great time with Danielle, a McNeese University senior. She is finishing up her degree in Education and says she loves children. Danielle, I know you will be an awesome teacher with that bubbly and enthusiastic spirit.
Here are a few of the images from our on location senior portrait session in and around Lake Charles.
