There are times when you just see an image and know you must photograph it. This was one of those times. While travelling on Hwy. 165 South from Kinder, LA back in 2008, I lowered my window, pointed my camera toward the train at 55 mph and clicked off multiple shots and hoped one would capture the image I had in my mind. Vacuum Cleaner – Brock’s first words (well, at least a close facsimile to vacuum).
I had the opportunity to do the portrait session for Brock’s 18 month pictures. His family wanted the high-key (bright-white background) setup and had to include his toy vacuum cleaner he got for Christmas. He loves vacuum cleaners and wants to play with them all the time – toy and real.

A clear night. We’ve been having so much rain in this part of the country lately that clear, beautiful evenings have been rare. While inside doing some reading yesterday evening I received a call that the moon was a beautiful orange in the sky. When the moon is still low in the sky it is obstructed by trees and power lines near our house. So….I got in the car and headed about three miles down the road to a secluded spot and got a few pictures of the moonlit sky. Here are a couple. Hope you enjoy.
