The wonders of God’s creation. I took the opportunity and braved strong winds today and got a few pictures of a beautiful lilly from our son and daughter-in-law’s garden. With a little help, I got the reflectors set up (every once in a while the wind would take the foam core we were using as a reflector and sling it across the yard, stand and all), and even had to hold the stem to keep the plant still. The pics were taken in the lulls between strong gusts. Oh, and did I mention the mosquitoes?

We hope you will enjoy the beauty of God’s creation. Thanks for looking.

Last night marked Prom night for many schools here in Lake Charles, and young men and women dressed to the nines were all over the place. My subjects for this photo session were no exception. We grabbed quite a few great images before they headed off to their dinner reservations. The camera really loved these two and their beautiful dresses.
Please add a comment and let them know what you think of their pictures.

You may remember my “Camera Shy” post from a couple of weeks back. Well, here’s another pic from that session that I just got printed. Here she’s got the “porcelain doll” look. What a cutie!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have another photo session with her scheduled next week. Hopefully she’ll be a little happier and well rested.

We spent the day yesterday at Avery Island, LA doing portraits and simply enjoying the scenery. The flowers are not in bloom yet, but we found some nice places for a few shots. Quite a few alligators were out sunning themselves, and a large number of birds were nesting. We got there a little late and it was a very sunny day, so we had to work for each shot. Still, we came away with a few “keepers.”

We all have days when we don’t feel our best. Little Brylee was having one of those days today for our portrait session. A little tired, coupled with a late afternoon session made for a few tears and holding on to mom. Between the “moments” we were able to capture a few cute shots.

It's finally over
Finally, a well-deserved snack for all the hard work. While we don’t always get the best smiles every time, it’s always a blessing to spend time with these little ones and their families.

Today’s post is a few flowers from one of last week’s portrait sessions among the bluebonnets. The first two pictures are of the bluebonnet flower. The bluebonnet is named for its color, and it is said that its petal bears the resemblance of a woman’s sunbonnet. It is the state flower of Texas.

While I enjoy photographing people, the world of God’s creation offers a virtually limitless subject matter full of color and beauty. I hope you enjoy.
