We had a morning in the park earlier this week. We took the opportunity to do this portrait session for our son and granddaughter at Prien Lake Park this past Tuesday.

Our hands are full this week. Our very outspoken, lively six year-old granddaughter from Alabama is spending the week with us. We really do look forward to her visits and try to squeeze as much into the week as we can. Right now as I write this, she and her dad are on the way to the Children’s Museum to spend a couple of hours. These two pictures were taken very quickly before we rushed off to church yesterday. The lighting was fairly simple. Canon 580 EX II on camera with a home-made light modifier triggering a second, 580 EX with Gary Fong Lightspere hand-held by my wife.
She definately likes the camera.
A big thanks to all of you who frequent this blog. I trust you have enjoyed the pictures, but I would like to provide something more. If there is enough interest out there I would like to begin providing some camera and photo tips for those who would like their pictures on their point and shoot cameras as well as SLR’s to turn out better. Just a few easy tips could make a world of difference.

I had the pleasure of sharing a special day with John & Katie this past Saturday. It was a casual wedding with a few close friends and family at Pat’s of Henderson Restaurant in Lake Charles. The Carlyss Law Enforcement Center had its Grand Opening today. Many were in attendance and there were vehicles and equipment on display. I also had the opportunity to see one of our deputy’s 1 week old daughter. Congratulations.
Guys in the woods with power equipment…what more can I say. That’s my dad on his new tractor and one of my sons working the chain saw.
